A Maghribi Qalam – Pen is usually made from bamboo or reed pen, It was also made from small wooden planks cut with a sharp nib opposite to the Mashriqi (Eastern) Qalams – pens.
There are two styles one as bamboo – reed pen and the other as a wooden plank. Each have the same measurement 18 cm and thickness (diameter) may vary from 7mm to 1.5 cm.
